Grizzlies Continue To Bolster Roster

Orange County, CA

The California Grizzlies are ecstatic to announce the signing of our third player of local talent! Coming right out of Orange County's own Huntington Beach, Tyler Sybil will don the orange and black sweater that is the California Grizzlies.

Sybil joins the Grizzlies on the front lines of forward to add offensive power and might. Before the Grizzlies, Sybil spent time playing high levels of junior hockey in the both U.S. (NAHL/WSHL-where he served as captain of his team, the Ontario Avalanche) and in Canada (BCHL/OJHL/CCHL) before jumping immediately to the minor professional ranks where he spent time at the single A level before returning back home to Orange County. He played semi-professional for a season and went into retirement until he got the call to once again join single A professional hockey.

On the Defensive side, the California Grizzlies continue to strengthen their roster with the signing of defensemen Nicholas Short. Short will add to the Grizzlies in many aspects. Not only does he perform phenomenally well at his defensive responsibilities, but he proves that he can not only put the puck in the net, by set up the goals as well.

Over the course of his junior career in the WSHL, Short amassed 122 career points in 162 career games which was enough to get him offers to pursue a career at the collegiate level. Short gained notice of UMass-Dartmouth of the NCAA’s division lll level and continued to decorate his playing resume with 3 seasons of college hockey.

The Grizzlies are excited to have players with college experience. The abilities that players like Short possess are what makes for high tempo; high skill hockey. Combining all of those elements creates thrilling atmospheres and fun environments to be in where fans can witness some of the most exciting hockey.

With the season approaching fast, the Grizzlies will be securing more depth on the roster over the next couple weeks with final roster spots to be determined at main camp. With the way it’s shaping up, the Grizzlies are in line of becoming not only a staple franchise, but one of the top tier, premier organizations of the Western Professional Hockey League.
